What contexts are
A context is a workspace within Juno (Work, Personal, Studies, Side project — whatever fits your life). New tasks default to the active context. The planning view filters by context so you don't mix work and personal in the same plan.
Manage contexts
Open Settings -> Contexts.
- Add — name and color.
- Reorder — drag to control display order.
- Set default — the context new tasks land in.
- Archive — keep historical data, hide from active lists.
Switching context
Use the context switcher in the top of the sidebar. Switching changes:
- The default for new tasks.
- The visible task lists and planner.
- The morning ritual scope.
- The schedules Juno can use when a context or tag has custom working hours.
Calendars remain visible across contexts (you usually want both on screen).
Tags vs. contexts
- Context = where this task lives (one per task).
- Tag = topic or project that crosses contexts (zero or many per task).
Use a context for "Work". Use a tag for "Q4 launch" — that tag may exist in both Work and Personal.
Tips
- Start with a few contexts. Add more when they help you separate responsibilities.
- Add tags when they help you find or group work, whether that is two tasks for a client or a larger project.
- Add custom schedules only where they clarify your week, such as "Deep work mornings" or "Personal evenings".
