How-tos & Workflows
Focus mode
Run a single-task focus session with a timer and minimal UI.
1 min read
Start a focus session
- Open the task you want to work on.
- Click Focus in the task actions.
- Juno opens the focused view and starts tracking time for that task.
Juno hides distractions, shows the active task and timer, and tracks elapsed time against your estimate.
During focus
- The timer shows the active task and elapsed time.
- You can pause for a real interruption.
- Subtasks remain visible so you can check them off as you go.
- When focus and break reminders are enabled, Juno can nudge you after each work interval.
End a focus session
- Done completes the task and moves to the next planned task, if there is one.
- Skip stops tracking this task and moves on without completing it.
- Pause stops the timer while you take a break. Use Exit focus to return to the planner.
The session feeds into your daily progress, which you'll review during the shutdown ritual.
Settings to know
In Settings -> Focus you can:
- Enable focus and break reminders.
- Choose reminders-only or strict pomodoro mode.
- Set work, short-break, and long-break durations.
- Enable sounds on reminder.
- Use a floating focus bar on supported web or desktop environments.
Tips
- Use a time estimate that reflects the work you intend to do.
- Don't multi-focus. The point is to commit to one task.
- If a task is hard to start, try defining a smaller next step or adding subtasks.
